the rhythm of the farm

There's a definite rhythm to the seasons and the chores here at RGM Farms. From the monthly chore of cleaning out the goat barn to the endless weeding and watering in the garden, every task plays a role in keeping things running smoothly. This late summer is all about final preparations for our new fence, constant garden maintenance, and keeping up with the mowing. It's a lot of work, but each completed chore brings a sense of accomplishment and moves us one step closer to our goals for the farm.

Can we be open with you. We recently had a guest whose review stated they were disappointed in their stay because they expected a 'working farm experience'. We apologized if we in any way misrepresented our life here at RGM Farms. We previously stated in our description that we are a working farm because it is not uncommon that we and friends or contractors start working early on Saturday mornings to be able to accomplish our goals and wanted to give forewarning of our early rising. Also stated was we only had a small family garden. From our raised beds and patio pots we harvest enough for guests to enjoy and supply a small amount for our health food store, CDR Naturals.

Our desire is our guests have an enjoyable experience and participate in as much of our farm jobs as desired. We since have started leaving a page of personal notes for each guest inviting them into the different farm duties in case they want more of the country / farm life experiences. Hope to see you soon, Chuck n Donna.
