Spring in Crawford County is a dance between the promise of warmth and the lingering grip of winter. Here at RGM Farms, our daffodils, those cheerful harbingers of spring (often called Easter lilies), are already pushing through the earth! Despite the recent inch or so of snow and frozen precipitation, these little warriors stand tall, reaching about three inches in height, their green shoots peeking out from under a light dusting of white. It's a testament to their resilience and a reminder that even in the face of a late-season chill, nature's beauty finds a way.
This week, we've been admiring these brave blooms and also dealing with the realities of a still-frosty morning. Breaking a thin layer of ice on the goat and cat water tubs is a daily ritual, a stark reminder that while spring is on its way, we're not quite out of winter's grasp.
Keep an eye on our updates as we watch these daffodils bloom and prepare for the warmer days ahead. Spring is coming, one hardy flower at a time!
